How to visit Dubai ?

To get to Dubai, travelers can fly into Dubai International Airport (DXB), one of the busiest airports in the world. Major airlines such as Emirates, Etihad, and British Airways offer direct flights from cities around the globe. Alternatively, you can also fly into Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and then take a 90-minute bus or taxi ride to Dubai.

When planning your trip, it's a good idea to book tickets in advance for popular attractions like the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, and the Dubai Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the world. You should also consider purchasing a Dubai City Pass, which offers discounted entry to many top attractions and includes a hop-on hop-off bus tour.

The costs of visiting Dubai can vary greatly depending on your travel style. Budget travelers can expect to spend around $50-$70 per day, while mid-range travelers may spend $100-$200 per day. Luxury travelers can easily spend upwards of $500 per day on upscale accommodations, dining, and activities.

Some of the best things to do in Dubai include visiting the Burj Khalifa, exploring the Palm Jumeirah, and taking a desert safari. You can also take a stroll around the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, visit the Jumeirah Mosque, or relax on the beautiful Jumeirah Beach.

For dining options, try Al Mallah for delicious shawarma and falafel, or Pierchic for a fine dining experience with stunning views of the Burj Al Arab. For a truly unique dining experience, visit Dinner in the Sky, where you'll enjoy a gourmet meal while suspended 50 meters above the ground.

When looking for accommodations in Dubai, there are options to suit all budgets. For a luxury stay, consider the iconic Burj Al Arab or the stylish Armani Hotel Dubai. For more affordable options, try the Rove Downtown or the Premier Inn Dubai Al Jaddaf.

Off the beaten path:

For an unusual travel experience in Dubai, consider exploring the Al Qudra Oasis, a man-made desert oasis located about 30 minutes from the city center. Home to over 100 species of birds and numerous native plants, Al Qudra offers a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Rent a bike or pack a picnic and explore the area's beautiful landscapes, including the Love Lake, a heart-shaped lake that's perfect for a romantic outing or a relaxing day in nature.

Dubai: a journey into the future in the middle of the desert

When traveling to the Persian Gulf, Dubai is the destination of choice.

The emirate is as popular as its neighbor Abu Dhabi. Spending several nights in Dubai means immersing yourself in a world of avant-garde architecture. Less well known than its extravagant towers and gigantic malls, the alleys of the historic Bastakiya district will seduce you with their ancient Persian mansions, art galleries, and small shops. Don't hesitate to visit the Jumeirah Mosque, the only one open to non-Muslims. Al-Fahaidi Fort, home to the Dubai Museum, is also worth a visit. Then treat yourself to a day of excess with Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower, and Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping mall.

A palm island, a marina, the world's tallest skyscraper inaugurated on January 4, 2010, towers of 50 stories or more that make the first hotels built along Jumeirah beach seem dwarfed (the world's tallest hotel opened in February 2013 at 355 meters), an ultra-modern metro... the growth of such intensity that it is difficult to remember its traditional face before the 1970s.

There is no shortage of ambitious projects in Dubai, welcoming crowds to its second international airport, which could claim to be the largest airport hub in the world. At the crossroads of East and West, Dubai intends to intensify its influence.

An ambitious emirate, more liberal and tolerant than its neighbors, attracts wealthy tourists who are very happy to roam without constraint and in complete safety. A beautiful city with that.

The city planners have not forgotten the parks (a challenge in this climate), the pedestrian promenades, the shopping and relaxation areas. You can sail on the Creek on water cabs, the dhows (ancient Arab ships), or even yachts for a few hours of dinner cruising. In the "old Dubai" (corresponding to the district of Deira), you can stroll in the souks, visit the renovated museum. The houses, around, still have their wind tower (a natural air conditioning system allowing the evacuation of the hot air) and shelter art galleries or guest rooms.

Going up the Creek on its eastern bank, the merchant port allows observing the impressive wooden boats moored from Iran, India, and Sri Lanka. Multicolored hulls, piles of crates on the docks: much of what you find in the streets of the traditional souk first passes through here.

And since Dubai dreams of being a city of wonders, it has not hesitated to open shopping malls in which brands open boutiques of staggering proportions, to develop infrastructures for all publics and, above all, a high-end hotel industry with dazzling services whose dynamism does not diminish.

Frequently Asked Questions by Travelers planning a trip to Dubai

When to go to Dubai?

The best time to visit the emirate is from October to May when the temperatures start to rise and the heat in summer invites you to stay in air-conditioned places.

Please note that during the Ramadan period, many prohibitions will restrict your stay and especially your bathing pleasures.

  • First reflex: the cab. They are numerous and easily recognizable by their blue or red roofs. All the drivers speak English, so you will have no problem making yourself understood. They drive well in Dubai but avoid rush hour if you are in a hurry.
For a race it will be necessary to count at least 10 dirhams and not to panic, all the cabs are equipped with meters.

  • The Dubai metro is also very efficient (although as expensive as the cab). Two (air) lines for the moment, a train every five minutes in the station that serves the main spots of the emirate from the international airport to the marina on the road to Abu Dhabi.

Here you will find some ideas while you are in Dubai

  • A cruise on the Creek. The cheapest way is to negotiate with a water cab driver (the abras) to hire his services and the boat for 30 min to 1 hour. The 30 minutes should not cost more than 50 dirhams.

  • The desert. About 1 hour away, golden dunes turn to sienna in the evening. For sensations in 4X4 (dune bashing) and a barbecue under the stars.

  • See also in Dubai what we least expect: a ski resort in a mall. Ski Dubai in Mall of the Emirates: 5 runs, from green to black, 400 m for the longest.

  • To end the day and watch the most beautiful sunset, go to the heights of the Burj Khalifa Tower.
